June 25, 2019
McGlinchey Stafford Member Brian McGrath was recently appointed to the New York City Bar Association’s LGBTQ Rights Committee for a three-year term. Brian served as one of the three subcommittee members who organized the City Bar’s 2019 LGBTQ Pride Reception on June 19, which was attended by 200 members of the legal community. McGlinchey Stafford was proud to be a Gold Sponsor for this event.
Brian leads the firm’s Diversity Committee-LGBTQ Employee Resource Group, and as such, helped organized a firmwide presentation titled “Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising That Started the Modern LGBTQ Movement” on Thursday, June 13. Cathryn Oakley, State Legislative Director for the Human Rights Campaign, reflected on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which catalyzed the modern gay rights movement in the US. The presentation was offered via videoconference to the firm’s offices nationwide.
