Odera Chuke’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and consumer financial services litigation, with a primary focus on defending mortgage lenders and loan servicers in state and federal courts. Her client base includes financial institutions such as national and state banks, consumer finance companies, mortgage loan servicers and issuers, and other providers of consumer financial services.
Odera has in-depth experience in consumer banking and finance litigation, and is adept at drafting and arguing motions in federal and state courts, representing clients at settlement and pretrial conferences, motion practice, drafting and answering pleadings, discovery requests, and negotiating settlements.
She has handled consumer banking and finance litigation matters emanating from across the country in both state and federal court. She assists clients with contested foreclosures, real estate issues, and claims of federal and state regulatory violations, including state and federal consumer protection and lending laws. Odera has experience defending claims involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Regulation E, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Bank Secrecy Act, Negotiable Instruments and Payment Systems, and others.
