Timothy primarily focuses on commercial litigation and consumer financial services litigation in state and federal courts. He represents financial institutions such as national and state banks, consumer finance companies, credit card issuers, mortgage banks and lenders, mortgage loan servicers, and other consumer financial services providers.
Timothy defends the firm’s lending and servicing clients in claims arising under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and other Federal and State statutes. He also assists with matters involving bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings.
Timothy also holds an M.B.A. and has experience in corporate law. He has drafted and negotiated commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, buy-sell agreements, and asset purchase agreements. He also has experience conducting due diligence for transactions and advising on financing and securities issues.
After law school, Timothy clerked for the Honorable Clayton Davis and Robert Wyatt in the 14th Judicial District Court in Lake Charles, LA.
